Police appeal for information on shooting

ACT Policing is appealing for information relating to an incident on Monday evening (20 May 2019) when a 25-year-old man was shot in the leg and slashed with a knife.

The injured man drove himself to The Canberra Hospital in a silver-coloured Mitsubishi Lancer where he received treatment for his injuries.

Police suspect the man received the injuries in Tuggeranong, but this information cannot be confirmed as the injured man did not provide a location for the incident.

It is believed the incident happened between 9 and 10pm on Monday evening. Police are urging anyone who heard a loud bang or popping sounds that could have been gunshots in that time period to provide details to Crime Stoppers.

ACT Policing is also asking anyone who was driving at that time to check if their dash cam footage includes a silver-coloured Mitsubishi Lancer.
