Overnight shooting leads to arrest for murder of Pitasoni Ulavalu

A 26-year-old man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, 6 August 2020, charged with murder following the stabbing death of former ACT Comanchero Commander, 48-year-old Pitasoni Ulavalu on 19 July, 2020.

The arrest was made in Garran early this morning (Wednesday, 5 August) after another man presented to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. The circumstances surrounding this man’s injuries are still under investigation.

Two other men, a 22-year-old and a 23-year-old were also arrested, and are expected in court Thursday on charges of affray, associated with the stabbing.

Bail will be opposed.

The investigation remains ongoing and ACT Policing Criminal Investigations detectives anticipate further arrests regarding the stabbing of Pitasoni Ulavalu.
