OMCG member to face court over Kambah house fire

ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis investigators have charged a Canberra Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) member with a number of offences following a house fire in November 2019.

About 11.00pm on Thursday, 21 November 2019 police and ACT Fire & Rescue attended a fire at a residence on Chirnside Place, Kambah.

Police commenced an investigation into this incident, which was subsequently passed on to ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis.

About 2:30am today (Wednesday 19 February 2020), members of Taskforce Nemesis executed a search warrant at a residence in Kaleen, where a 31-year-old man was arrested in relation to the fire.

He has been charged with offences including aggravated burglary, arson, participating in a criminal group, and committing an act endangering life.

The man will appear in the ACT Magistrates court today where bail will be opposed.
