Ngunnawal resident charged following theft of tools

ACT Policing has charged a 27-year-old Ngunnawal resident with a number of offences following the theft of tools from a vehicle and an assault last week.

Police will allege the 27-year-old stole tools from a utility parked outside a house in Taylor early last Thursday morning (15 August 2019).

The man was confronted by a member of the public at a service station in Casey soon after the theft.

Following an investigation by Gungahlin officers, a silver Holden Commodore sedan was recovered earlier this week and yesterday (Wednesday 21 August 2019) the 27-year-old was arrested.

He has been charged with theft, assault and possessing an offensive weapon with intent. He is scheduled to appear in the ACT Magistrates court today (22 August 2019).

Tools stolen were recovered by police and have been returned to their owner.
