Multiple arson attacks south side

ACT Policing is investigating several incidents of arson in the suburbs of Richardson, Calwell and Isabella Plains early this morning (Monday 8 June).

Between the hours of 2.30am and 5am, police and ACT Fire and Rescue attended up to 10 separate locations across the south side, after reports of trees and bushes being alight. Property including cars, buckets and tarpaulins were also targeted.

A tree was extinguished outside Richardson shops and random property was set alight on Prichard Circuit and Leaky Place in Richardson; Downard Street, Outtrim Avenue and Costello Circuit in Calwell and Hadleigh Circuit in Isabella Plains.

Investigations are ongoing with CCTV footage being obtained from nearby businesses. 

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
