Monash man to face court on multiple charges

Facing court

A 35-year-old Monash man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court today (Saturday, 24 August 2019) on eleven charges, including possession of knives and stolen goods.

Police will allege that last night (23 August) the man removed fuses from residences in Banks and attempted to enter those premises. A resident of one house confronted the man, who fled when he heard police sirens approaching.

During a search of the area, the man was found lying on the ground in a nearby backyard.

Further investigations revealed knives and property suspected of being stolen in a backpack which the man had been seen carrying on CCTV footage.

The man will face court today, charged with three counts of theft, four counts of trespass, unlawful possession of stolen property and possessing a knife without a reasonable excuse.
