Man on ten charges after act of indecency

A 38-year-old Curtin man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Monday 30 September 2019) on ten charges after an alleged act of indecency on Saturday.

Police will allege the man committed an act of indecency on a female student at a university residence about 6.30am Saturday (28 September) and then stole several items. He allegedly attempted to use a credit card stolen from the victim later that day.

On Sunday the man was located in Curtin, in what police will allege was a stolen motor vehicle and in possession of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine. He was arrested and subsequent searches located numerous stolen items.

The man will face charges including committing an act of indecency without consent, driving a motor vehicle without consent, unlicenced driving, burglary, theft and drug possession.

Police will oppose bail.
