Man to face court on traffic offences

A 31-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning following an incident in Braddon yesterday afternoon (Friday, 12 January 2018).

About 2.50pm, police observed a black Holden sedan, travelling at speed along Northbourne Avenue, Braddon.

Police detected the vehicle travelling at 87 kilometres an hour (km/hr) in a 60 km/hr speed zone.

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who said he was late for an appointment.

Following additional police enquiries, the man was taken into custody and transported to the ACT Watch House.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court charged with exceed speed limit, drive while disqualified, use unregistered vehicle, use uninsured vehicle and arrest without warrant person on bail.
