Man to face court over burglary and firearm offences

A 35-year-old Giralang man will face court this morning regarding a recent burglary at a residence on CSIRO land. 

Police allege that between Friday 28 June and Saturday 29 June, 2019 a number of firearms and ammunition were stolen from the residence in northern Canberra.

As a result of investigations relating to the incident, ACT Policing executed a search warrant on a residence in Giralang yesterday afternoon (3 July, 2019).

During this warrant, police found a number of firearms and ammunition believed to be the items stolen from the residence, as well as an amount of cannabis.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and has been charged with unauthorised possession of firearms, burglary, theft and drug possession.
