Man to face court for Mitchell burglary

A 25-year-old Downer man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 15 January 2020), charged with multiple offences relating to a burglary.

About 8am Sunday, police responded to reports of a burglary at a takeaway shop in Mitchell, during which the front door was smashed.

A short time later police located a vehicle used to leave the scene of the burglary. During the execution of a search warrant on the vehicle, items matching those used in the burglary were located.

On Tuesday evening (14 January) police arrested a man at a residence in Downer. The 25-year-old was transported to the ACT Watch House and will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with burglary, theft, damage property and breach of parole.
