Man to face court following nine commercial burglaries

A 37-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 22 April 2020) on 15 charges following nine burglaries.

It is alleged the man committed two commercial burglaries in Canberra City and seven commercial burglaries in Braddon between Friday, 17 April and Monday, 20 April, 2020.

The man is alleged to have forced entry to these businesses, in some cases causing significant damage to the doors, and stolen items including electronics and cash.

Police arrested the man about 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday, 21 April 2020) in Reid. They located a number of items on the man including tools used during the burglaries.

The man has been charged with nine counts of burglary, three counts of minor theft, one count of theft, going equipped for theft, and breach of a good behaviour order.
