Man to face court on drug trafficking charge
A 40-year-old man is expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court today (17 July 2020) on a charge of cultivating a trafficable quantity of cannabis.
The man handed himself in at City Police Station earlier today.
On Wednesday, ACT Policing was granted a restraining order over a $1.1m Higgins residence where 31 cannabis plants and a firearm were seized.
Police executed a search warrant at the property on 10 July 2020 and officers uncovered a sophisticated hydroponic operation across multiple rooms.
A single barrel shotgun was discovered and seized.
The man is expected to face court today. The charges include - cultivating a trafficable quantity of cannabis, interfere with a public utility service endangering life and possess and use an unregistered firearm.
