Man to face court on dangerous driving and fail to stop charges

A 39-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Friday, 20 September 2019) for charges including aggravated dangerous driving while disqualified.

Police will allege about 4am yesterday (Thursday, 19 September 2019) the man was driving a Toyota hatchback when he failed to stop for police in Gilmore.

A short time later, it is alleged the man drove at a police officer before crashing into a street sign and a parked car then fleeing with the cars lights turned off.

Around 3.30pm, police saw the Gilmore man driving a damaged Mercedes.

Police stopped the vehicle and arrested the man. He was charged with aggravated dangerous driving, two counts of drive while disqualified, fail to stop motor vehicle for police and property damage.
