Man to face court on burglary charges

A 24-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, 14 September 2019), charged with multiple offences relating to a burglary in Isabella Plains.

About 10:15am yesterday, police attended Abercorn Crescent following the report of a man burgling a residence.

Police located the man riding a bicycle carrying a large amount of suspected stolen property at the intersection of Abercorn Crescent and Candelo Place.

The man attempted to ride away from police but was apprehended.

A number of enquiries were conducted during which the owner of the burgled residence and suspected stolen property were identified.

The 24-year-old man has been charged with burglary, unlawful possession of stolen property, possess knife without reasonable excuse, going equipped for theft, possess a prohibited substance, possess a declared substance without authorisation and breach good behaviour order. Police will oppose bail.
