Man to face court for aggravated robbery in Mawson

A 25-year-old Fisher man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday, 14 February 2018), following the aggravated robbery of the Mawson Club on Sunday, 24 December 2017.

About 3.00am on 24 December 2017, two armed males forced entry to the Mawson Club at 10 Heard Street, Mawson.

The two males threatened the manager and security guard, demanding money, and then left the area with an amount of cash.

Following an investigations by the Criminal Investigations team, officers arrested the man at a business in Woden yesterday.

The 25-year-old was charged with aggravated robbery (offensive weapon), two counts of possess/use a prohibited weapon without authorisation and two counts of common assault.

Investigations into the aggravated robbery are ongoing.
