Man dies after motorcycle collision in Manuka

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision this morning (Monday, March 17) in Manuka.

A male motorcycle rider was travelling north-west on a sweeping right-hand bend on Canberra Avenue around 1.05am today when he lost control of his BMW F650 motorcycle and struck a roadside pole.

ACT Policing General Duties officers from Woden Patrol, attending another incident nearby, were on the scene quickly and performed CPR until ACT Ambulance paramedics arrived. The 25-year-old motorcyclist was conveyed to hospital but died a short time later. A brief will now be prepared for the Coroner.

This is the fourth fatality on Canberra’s roads this calendar year.
