Man in court over stolen excavator

A 28-year-old Gilmore man is scheduled to face court today (Wednesday 1 July) charged with receiving stolen property.

A Bobcat excavator was reported stolen from an O’Malley building site yesterday morning (30 June).   

Later that morning a member of the public noticed an excavator hidden off the Monaro Highway and called police.

Police attended the location and questioned a man who was subsequently placed under arrest.

He will face charges of receiving stolen property in the ACT Magistrates Court later today.
