Man and woman to face court over Belconnen Mall burglaries

A 27-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman will face the ACT Magistrates court today (Wednesday, 24 April 2019) following two aggravated burglaries at Westfield Belconnen.

Between 7.30pm Monday, 22 April 2019 and 7.30am Tuesday, 23 April 2019, police allege the two offenders stole a safe, cash drawer and an amount of money from the Top Juice and Chatime stores at Westfield Belconnen.

Police investigations led to a search warrant being executed on a Belconnen residence on Tuesday afternoon. During the execution of this warrant, items stolen from the stores were located, along with several other items and property suspected of being stolen.

The 27-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested, and both have been changed with two counts of aggravated burglary, theft, minor theft and property damage.

Police enquiries are continuing in relation to the other property located during the warrant.
