Man and teenager to face court for stolen motor vehicle offences

ACT Policing officers have apprehended an 18-year-old man and a 16-year old boy in relation to riding and driving in a stolen motor vehicle.

The man will face the ACT Magistrates Court and the boy will face the ACT Children’s Court today (Friday, 26 July 2019).

Police will allege the duo was in a stolen white Subaru Liberty being driven aggressively through several Canberra suburbs. They were arrested when the vehicle stopped on the Cotter Road in Stromlo on Thursday afternoon.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations will continue investigations into the stolen motor vehicle and the persons apprehended.

The man will appear on a charge of riding in a stolen motor vehicle, the boy will face a charge of driving a stolen motor vehicle.

Police will be opposing bail.
