Fourteen year old to face court for forcible confinement

A 14-year-old girl will face the ACT Children’s Court this morning (Thursday, 17 October 2019) charged with offences including forcible confinement.

About 8pm on Tuesday, 15 October 2019, police attended a residence in Lyneham following reports the occupant had been kidnapped.

Police spoke with witnesses, who reported seeing the victim being assaulted by a group of people.

The alleged offenders were identified and arrested a short time later in a neighbouring residence, while the victim was located in Civic on Wednesday, 16 October.

One of the alleged offenders, a 14-year-old girl, has been charged with forcible confinement, aggravated burglary and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Investigations into the involvement of the other alleged offenders remains ongoing.
