Canberra complying with COVID19 health directions

COVID-19

ACT Policing conducted more than 500 COVID-19 compliance checks on people in quarantine and at businesses over the past week.

This week marks the end of quarantine for the first ACT residents returning from Victoria, and Detective Superintendent Mick Calatzis, from the ACT Policing COVID-19 Taskforce, thanked everyone for their cooperation.

“Police and the ACT Government have gone to great lengths to educate and support people in quarantine about their responsibilities, and it is very encouraging to see people are doing the right thing,” Detective Superintendent Calatzis said.

As people leave quarantine and head out it is important to remember other restrictions are still in place at ACT venues.

“It’s great to see so many people out, and I would encourage people to stick to the timeframe specified by the venue when dining out,” Detective Superintendent Calatzis said.

“Most people are keen to do the right thing and by staying within the time limit you are helping business owners manage the number of people in their establishment and ensure they remain compliant with health restrictions.”

ACT Policing have conducted more than 3600 compliance checks to date.
