Call for information regarding Theodore shooting

UPDATE

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses and information regarding a shooting incident on Freda Gibson Circuit, Theodore just before 10pm on Saturday night (2 March, 2019).

As a result of investigations, police can confirm that seven shots were fired in the incident, resulting in one man receiving a non-life-threatening gun-shot injury.

Links between those involved as well as the motivation behind the incident are actively being investigated.

Extensive forensic investigations have also been conducted, with bullets found lodged in three houses.

Detective Acting Superintendent Matthew Reynolds said all available resources were being allocated to this dangerous incident.

“It is pure luck that innocent people were not harmed or killed as a result of this reckless act,” Detective Acting Superintendent Reynolds said.

“To indiscriminately discharge a firearm in a suburban street is unacceptable.

“We know there are people who have information about this event who have not spoken to police. We are urging you to come forward.”

Investigators, forensic and intelligence specialists are working closely to see those responsible for this reckless act brought before the court.
