Witnesses sought after stabbing in Kambah

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after a stabbing occurred in Kambah in the late hours of Saturday night (21 October 2017).

About 11:15pm, ACT Policing responded to a report that a man had been stabbed on Kingsmill Street in Kambah.

Police attended and located a 26-year-old man with serious stab wounds.  The man was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service members and transported to hospital where he underwent surgery.

Officers spoke to a number of witnesses at the scene and it was established that the victim was a good Samaritan who attempted to assist a woman involved in an argument with the offender.

On Monday, 23 October 2017, police arrested and charged a 19-year-old Richardson man with cause grievous bodily harm and intentionally wound. He will fact the ACT Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, 24 October 2017).
