Police seek public assistance to a suspicious fire

ACT Policing are investigating a suspicious fire which occurred on Monday, 16 October 2017, at Gorman House on Ainslie Avenue in Braddon.

About 5.00am Police along with ACT Fire & Rescue attended Gorman House in response to a fire alarm.

As the ACT Fire & Rescue were attending to the initial fire, another fire started in a different part of the location.

Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) obtained from Gorman House shows a person at the location wearing dark clothing with a hood pulled over their head. The CCTV shows the person walk to the door, place an item on the ground before lighting it and walking away.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Please quote reference 6185596. Information can be provided anonymously.
