Police investigate fatal collision in Campbell

Five people have died on our roads

ACT Policing is investigating a single vehicle collision which occurred in Campbell yesterday (Tuesday, 1 August), in which a person has died.

About 10.30pm, police responded to reports that a vehicle had collided with a wall and caught fire at the intersection of Fairbairn Avenue and Mount Ainslie Drive, Campbell.

ACT Fire & Rescue attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

The driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

ACT Policing's Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

This is the 5th fatality on ACT roads this year.
