Police investigate death in Watson

ACT Policing are investigating a death in Watson which occurred during the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, 25 October 2017).

About 3.40am, police were called to a residence following a male and a female reportedly being attacked by a dog.

Whilst attempting to provide a first aid response to the female victim, the dog attacked police at which point officers were forced to draw their firearms and euthanise the animal.

ACT Ambulance Service attended the scene and a male victim was conveyed to hospital.

Unfortunately, the female victim has died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.

AFP Forensic Services and ACT Policing Criminal Investigations attended and  are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the ACT Coroner.
