Operation Tribulation drug arrest - Man to face court on drug trafficking charges

A 34-year-old Canberra City man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Thursday, 21 December 2017), in relation to drug trafficking.

On 20 December 2017, as part of Operation Tribulation, members of Criminal Investigations, with the assistance of the AFP National Crime Operations Team and the AFP Canine Team conducted a search warrant at an address in Canberra City.

During the warrant police located and seized;

Over 600 grams of methylamphetamine/ICE, approximately 1000 pills of MDMA, trafficable quantities of suspected heroin and cocaine and almost $90,000 in cash.

Also seized was over 200 vials of anabolic steroids and drug paraphernalia including scales and clip seal bags associated with the trafficking of illicit drugs.

Detective Superintendent Scott Moller said, “the drugs have a combined street value of almost $850,000. These drugs cause untold harm in our community and the Criminal Investigations Team work tirelessly to reduce this harm and prevent these drugs reaching our streets”.

“Operation Tribulation remains ongoing and we will continue to target criminal syndicates operating in the ACT”, Detective Superintendent Moller said.
