Man to face court for possessing firearm

ACT Policing has arrested a 25-year-old Wanniassa man for possessing a firearm and ammunition.

Investigations led Police to conduct a search warrant at a Wanniassa residence on Saturday 4 November 2017.

During the search warrant Criminal Investigations Detectives located a .22 calibre single shot rifle and ammunition.

The 25-year-old will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Monday 6 November 2017) charged with possess firearm – prohibited firearm and possess ammunition generally.

Investigations are ongoing and further charges are expected to be laid.
