Man to face court on false document charges

A 35-year-old Higgins man will face the ACT Magistrate’s Court today (Friday, 27 October), following an investigation into false documents being used to gain employment.

Police will allege the man used false qualifications to gain employment at five separate childcare centers in the ACT between March 2016 and August 2017.

Officer in Charge of Woden Police Station, Station Sergeant Harry Hains said this investigation demonstrates the scope and variety of fraud.

“Fraud comes in many forms and has a detrimental impact on the victim and the community in general,” said Sergeant Hains.

The man was charged with four counts of use false document and two counts of possess prohibited substances (other drug or greater than 25g cannabis).
