Members of ACT Policing’s Targeting Team have arrested a man and a woman following ongoing investigations into a number of property crime offences.

Investigations led police to locate the 23-year-old man and 23-year-old woman at an address in Florey at 2pm yesterday (Friday 28 July).

Both the man and woman were arrested by police in relation to outstanding first instance warrants. The man will face court charged with obstruct/resist territory public official and unlawful possession of stolen property. The woman will face court charged with obstruct/resist territory public official and possess prohibited substance. They will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning where police will oppose bail.

Acting Superintendent Peter Davis said police focus on targeting recidivist offenders to reduce property crime.

“Burglary, theft, vehicle thefts and property damage cost the community in both a financial and very personal way.”

“As police, we focus on reducing the opportunities for property crime to occur. The Targeting Team plays a significant role in this by targeting recidivist property offenders and putting them before court.

“We also work to educate the community about securing their property and preventing crime. Members of the community can visit our website for tips on protecting their property and preventing crime,” Acting Superintendent Davis said.
