Then and Now: Rural Patrol

The original photo, dated 1970s, is of Constable Brian Bock standing in front the Police Toyota LandCruiser holding a dead fox. The Rural Patrol zone includes rural communities such as Tharwa, Uriarra Village, Pierces Creek (destroyed in the Canberra Fires 2003) and Tennent.

The current photo shows the Police Toyota LandCruiser with its lift kit (for extra clearance), snorkel and Max-Trax on the roof, packed with high-lift jack, winch, snatch straps, first aid equipment, firefighting equipment, a chainsaw, thermal vison goggles, GPS, satellite phone, overnight camping gear, portable gas bottles and cooking equipment.
